Michal and Mickey Cooper
Michal and Mickey Cooper, a couple in their twenties, were recently married in a Masorti (Conservative) congregation. Having both grown up in the Movement, this was a natural choice for them. However, many couples across the broad range of backgrounds represented in today’s Israel, turn to the Masorti Movement to ensure a meaningful ceremony that relates their Jewish heritage to their modern lives.
The Cooper’s decision makes a powerful statement because they know that a Masorti marriage is still not recognized by the State of Israel. The entire Movement is working hard to end this ongoing discrimination by harnessing the power of the thousands of Israelis who worship in our kehillot (congregations) and participate in our NOAM youth movement.
