Dear Friends and Supporters of Masorti Israel,
During these difficult times, I wanted to write with the warmest of wishes from the Board and staff of the Masorti Foundation, and the rabbis, activists, and kehillot of the Masorti Movement of Israel. I write this from my desk at home, as I’m sure many of you are now also working from home. We know that you are facing serious challenges in your local communities, and as a supporter of our Israeli Movement we want you to know that our thoughts are with you.
The Masorti Movement in Israel is rising to the challenges of Coronavirus in Israel, where sadly numbers of cases are growing significantly and most areas of religious, community, and educational life have ground to a halt. The Movement is redoubling its efforts to continue serving the Masorti (Conservative) communities across Israel and the broader Israeli community looking to them for services. More updates on this will follow.
While we at the Foundation will need to modify our activities as circumstances require, please know that we see our shared efforts to create unity between the Masorti Movement in Israel and Conservative Judaism in the United States and the world, as a holy mission. And you in the Masorti Foundation community will always be a deeply valued part of this eternal partnership.
In closing I would like to share a recent comment from one of our Israeli partners. He wrote, At this difficult moment for all mankind it is important for us to know that we are part of a big community that is out there and that we can count on. We know that it is not easy on your side of the Atlantic as well, and we share the concern and mutual solidarity with all. God bless you all and lots of health and safety to all.
Today, more than ever, we are grounded in the knowledge that Klal Yisrael is fundamental and that our solidarity is strong and sustaining.
Chazak VAmatz (Strength and Perseverance), Shabbat Shalom,
