SUPPORT MASORTI CONGREGATIONS
The Masorti Movement in Israel’s goal is to promote and strengthen a religious, communal and spiritual Judasim, combining faithfulness to Torah, Zionism and democracy. Masorti congregations are the principal vehicle for achieving this goal.
Proudly embodying pluralistic and inclusive Judaism in some eighty centers throughout the country, the members, services and activities of the congregation bring the message of Masorti Judaism to the wider communities in which they are located.
Masorti congregations embrace traditional Jewish values in Shabbat and holiday services. In addition, and unlike most Israeli synagogues, Masorti congregations offer a broad range of social and educational programs with Jewish content for members and the wider community, from pre-schoolers to senior citizens. Programming includes lectures, study groups, family education and holiday celebrations. Masorti rabbis, together with the Movement’s Religious Affairs Bureau, provide for life-cycle events, such as circumcisions, Bar/Bat Mitzvahs, weddings and burials.
When you are in Israel, we hope you’ll be able to visit some of our wonderful Masorti Movement congregations…there are almost 80 to choose from and we’re growing all the time.
