B’chol D’rachecha (In All Your Ways):
The First Egalitarian Siddur for Youth with Disabilities
The siddur, the first of its kind in the world, integrates cognitive accessibility and communication symbols.
- the familiar text of the prayers accompanied by communication symbols (for those who need them),
- paragraphs in simplified language,
- accessibility symbols to provide an extra level of clarification of the meaning of the text on the page.
B’chol D’rachecha is being published in a special edition comprised of two chapters: the “For use at home” chapter with blessings to be recited at home on Shabbat, chagim and weekdays and the “Shaharit” chapter with the weekday and Rosh Chodesh morning service including the order of service for the Torah reading.
The siddur enables people with and without disabilities to pray in synagogue together as one egalitarian community, putting into practice our Masorti values of inclusion and diversity, making all feel welcomed, full participants in their communities.
Purchasing the B’chol D’rachecha siddur is a beautiful addition to every Jewish home, can be used as a unique gift, and also helps support this vital cutting-edge project, because “you shall know Him in all your ways and he will make your paths straight.” (Proverbs 3:6)
