The Masorti Foundation for Conservative Judaism in Israel

Coping with the cognitive decline of an older parent, grandparent or dear friend is difficult under the best of circumstances. But Israel now struggles, as we do, with the added stresses of the pandemic.

In response, the Adraba Center of the Masorti (Conservative) Movement in Israel launched K’Sharim, an interactive recreational and study program for older Israelis with Alzheimer’s disease and other types of dementia. These individuals desperately need mental stimulation and community connections to get through this extremely challenging time.

We asked for your support on #GivingTuesday and you came through! Your support of K’Sharim helped enhance the quality of life for these Israeli seniors by providing them with communal learning experiences that include interactive informal Jewish learning, physical exercise, music, outlets for socializing with peers, and art work. Through these professionally led programs, feelings of loneliness and depression are lessened.

K'Sharim Adraba Masorti IsraelThanks to your generosity Masorti Israel’s award-winning Adraba Center — long known for its high-quality programs to help Israelis with disabilities — is there for Israeli seniors suffering from all forms of dementia.  This includes Holocaust survivors and other older immigrants from the former Soviet Union who deserve to live their final years in dignity.

Your continuing support enables the Center to widen the program’s reach throughout Israel, where it will be offered in older adult clubs, day care centers, assisted living facilities and retirement homes.

Thanks you for strengthening this crucial program assisting the most vulnerable Israeli seniors.
